Cam'ron Explains Dipset Turmoil, Hiatus To XXL
After a hiatus of about two years, Harlem rapper Cam'ron is making his way back to Hip Hop with a new video and the cover of XXL magazine.
On February 2, the video for Cam'ron's recession friendly track "I Hate My Job" was posted on blogs and websites across the net sparking even more chatter about his return.
In the video Cam'ron raps, "Ayo I'm looking for a job/Ain't nobody hiring/Then I asked the boss/When y'all doing firing/You I'm admiring/Nice job, family man, car and looking in these Want ads tiring/Shoulda been a fireman."
Cam'ron will also be featured as the cover story for an upcoming issue of XXL magazine.
"…So I understand what the fans are saying," Cam'ron told XXL's Vanessa Satten. "And it's kinda messed up. But what you gotta realize is that things can always be fixed behind the scenes. But once a problem gets public, it's kind of unfixable."
In the interview Cam'ron speaks on his hiatus, The Diplomats, and the fallout between himself and Jim Jones and Juelz Santana.
"The two things that you could say it was is: They come to my house and try to start a fake beef between me and [Jim]," Cam'ron explained to XXL. "And they kinda like siding with 50 [Cent] when me and him is in the dead middle of beefing or whatever."
Cam'ron's hiatus came shortly after a highly criticized appearance on 60 Minutes in which the rapper spoke on his infamous "Stop Snitching" campaign. His most recent album, Killa Season, was released roughly a year before the 60 Minutes interview.
Crime Pays, Cam'ron's sixth album, is expected to be released on April

Live Nation and Ticketmaster Entertainment Negotiate Merger
LiveNation and Ticketmaster Entertainment may announce a merger later on this week, according to Reuters. If the union between the two companies were to occur, it would signify the emergence of a powerful music industry presence with a joint market value of over $700 million. Dubbed “LiveNation Ticketmaster,” the conglomerate would consist of the world’s largest concert promoter, and one of the top ticketing companies. Together, the firms are linked to more than 200 artists including Madonna, Shakira, and Jay-Z.
Live Nation made headlines back in April of ’08 after landing a $150 million deal with artist Jay-Z [click to read]. Although Live Nation deals mostly with concert promotion, the company has been expanding business ventures by signing “360” record deals with artists, most of who get to keep the rights to their own music.
There are a few problems facing the possible merger, including managerial and contract matters. One issue that consumers face will be Live Nation Ticketmaster’s stronghold on concert tickets. As a huge influence on concert ticket sales, many fear that ticket prices will be driven up and that the powerhouse’s success will translate into a potential monopoly.
As one music label source tells the Los Angeles Times, “[The merger may] face antitrust issues from managers, record companies, ticketing companies, and concert promoters to name a few—not to mention the Obama administration will be very tough on this stuff.”

50 Cent Named Second Highest Earning African American Entertainer
Forbes magazine has released its list of the top-earning African American entertainers, and according to their calculations 50 Cent [click to read] pulled in $150 Million between June of 2007 and June of 2008. His income ranks him only behind media mogul Oprah Winfrey, who raked in $275 million during the same time frame.
So far, 50's portfolio includes his G-Unit record label, clothing brand and shoe company. He also brings in income from Vitamin Water, Right Guard, General Motors, Thisis50.com and a short-lived show on the MTV network.

Mick Boogie & DJ Unexpected - Directors Cut (Motion Picture Mixtape Vol. 1)
This CD was released back in November of 2005, but did not get the credit
it was due. This was the first "Motion Picture Mixtape" that DJ Unexpected
created (alongside Mick Boogie). I'm re-releasing this CD now to give the
people an experience they won't forget. Picture a movie, but audio wise.
Great listening experience.
MIXTAPE DESCRIPTION: "Mick Boogie and DJ Unexpected collaborate on this
creative project featuring remixes galore and hosted by Shady/Aftermath
artist Stat Quo. This Motion Picture Mixtape contains nothing but remixes,
mash-ups, blends, and exclusives that are sure to please the blend/remix
crowd as well as the streets. Hardcore artists like Jadakiss, Beanie Sigel,
Ghostface, Nas, Biggie, Big Pun, and Big L are mixed to perfection over a
perfect selection of grimey instrumentals. Mick & DJ Unexpected together
create an experience that isnt to be missed."
DJ Spinatik And Yo Gotti - The Pyrex King
The Tennessee Titan of Trappin aka. The Memphis Savior, Yo Gotti

by none other then Tha Wax Wizard DJ Spinatik himself, this joint is
like all the rest of the Street Runnaz jumpoffs: hood-tested,
street-approved! Back with one of the South's most slept-on and
underrated emcees right now, DJ Spinatik gets on his grizzly to bring

Phonte Of Little Brother Calls Kanye West A Coward
Recently, Phonte of Little Brother spoke his mind on Kanye West's latest album, 808s and Heartbreak [click to read] on the Conspiracy Worldwide Radio podcast.
When the topic of Kanye was brought up, Phonte made no secret of how he felt about Ye's latest project. "I heard pretty much most of the Kanye album," he said. "I didn't like it. I was just like 'get the fuck out of here.'
"I honestly thought it was an act of cowardice," continued Phonte. "I think if you're gonna make the creative leap to sing, then really sing. Let your voice come out, and let people hear all the eccentricities and all the little idiosyncrasies in your voice. That's what makes you uniquely you...Imagine if Aretha Franklin used Auto-Tune on 'Respect.'"
Phonte added that he thought Kanye was "biting T-Pain," and concluded by saying that 808s and Heartbreak was a "case of the reach extending the grasp."
